 OUT AND ABOUT

The Fontainebleau Miami is once again the epicenter for style, fame and glamour. As we all know by now, the hotel got a billion dollar facelift this past year and celebrities and models came out to celebrate in style. Fontainebleau is now a spectacular blend of Miami’s glamorous golden era and stylish modern luxury - 1,504 rooms and suites, 22 oceanfront acres, 11 restaurants and Liv Nightclub. Spotted during the grand opening weekend of festivities were personalities such as Martha Steward, P. Diddy, Ricky Martin, Gwyneth Palthrow, Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton and Alex Rodriguez, among many more big players. The reviews are mind-blowing and the party hasn’t ended yet. Actually it has just started. www.fontainebleau.com

And talking about beautiful venues, Living Room Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale is creating its own buzz all over South Florida. As hard as it is these days to get together over 1300 partygoers in an evening and on a weekly basis, the Liquid Fridays team is making it happen. The reviews are also endless and filled with compliments for the venue, the attitude, the service, the energy, the music, the entertainment and all the people that make it happen. So the promise of a revolution in nightlife in South Florida is coming true and the loyal followers can easily explain to you why. Come see it for yourself tonight, as we host the Official After Party of Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet Tour and Liquid Fridays every Friday from 10 PM to 4 AM. For VIP guest list, table reservations and special inquires, e-mail us at GiveMeABeatProd@aol.com. www.livingroomnightclub.com

As the weather changes and gets a little chilly on our island, and the grand openings of different venues, restaurants and new weekly parties are lining up fast, a big sign of “season is here” pops up, and we greet it with a broad smile on our face. From The Fontainebleau and the Eden Roc, to the upcoming opening of the Mondrian on West Avenue, and exciting soirees at The King is Dead, Gansevoort South, Grass Restaurant & Lounge, Kitchen 305 and Living Room Nightclub, from Dade to Broward, high season is getting ready to rock and to surprise us with over the top entertainment which we all love. Get ready kids!

Happening pretty much every night of the week, Blue Martini at Mary Brickell Village was so busy during off season, now think what it will be like during the next few months. The bankers and the diplomats start the party earlier than most places, at 5 PM with happy hour, but that goes into a marathon that doesn’t have a specific closing time scheduled, it just goes with the flow. The restaurant and lounge offer live music and fantastic bands every night as well as live DJs, signature and well served drinks and tasty food, which comes handy after the night starts creeping up to dawn. The decor is seductive, and so is the crowd. Fun, young, mixed and uplifting, filled with swinging singles who create a infectious energy that holds you for hours. In Brickell, yes, who would have thought? www.bluemartinilounge.com

Carmel Ophir’s infamous Monday soiree Back Door Bambi is now taking place on Saturdays and on a weekly basis at The Vagabond. This party is a must go and it’s legendary because things get crazy…Plenty of DJs in the line-up for a wide diversity of music, and a crowd as eclectic as its format should be expected. It’s easy to bump into local celebrities and colorful scenesters of all sorts. If you haven’t had the chance to experience it before, find out the information and make plans to see what the fuss is all about. www.thevagabondmiami.com

Inspired by Latin American, Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, Vix Restaurant at the Hotel Victor delivers a menu of sensual flavor and modern takes on global traditions. Featuring dishes like truffle risotto, seasonal ceviches, and beef carpaccio, Vix comprises a wealth of succulent selections served in a rich, luxurious atmosphere which feature an exhibition kitchen and large chef’s table. Executive chef Vincent Muraco brings his leadership and creativity to Vix through a masterful menu that includes local ingredients, unique fare and international flavors. A hotspot that happens every season, that’s for sure. To make reservations, click on the web site www.hotelvictorsouthbeach.com

More openings on the way, as Hot Tuna decadent Asian cuisine and lounge at 764 Washington Avenue gets ready to crash the scene, and to open its doors this week. Their marketing campaign assures us that the brand new seen and be seen type of place has a very energetic decor and is bringing something fresh to South Florida: a confluence of five star cuisine, five star service and unparalleled entertainment. Sound exciting and somewhat mysterious, uh? www.hottunamiami.com

Marriott South Beach at 161 Ocean Drive has to be one of the most chic hotels on our island with a very exquisite Miami flavor to it. The art deco vibe of its art and design along with the beautiful views of the beach from the property makes it one of the preferred places to stay and enjoy the weather on the Beach. Not only that, but the Deco Blue Terrace restaurant and outdoor lounge overlooks the beautiful pool area and is located only a few yards away from the ocean. The Terrace is a fantastic place for frozen drinks in the afternoon, for a casual dinning experience throughout the day and even brunch on the weekends. A venue that offers a very personalized service for locals and visitors alike, it’s just perfect as a different hang-out place to experience in the South of Fifth area. For more information, click on www.marriottsouthbeach.com

We want to congratulate our friend Kevin Hooper, publisher of the South Florida Blade and 411 Magazine, who has been promoted to a new position at parent company Window Media, in which he’ll also be the publisher of Southern Voice and David Magazine.
